- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 3 eggs
- 4 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp soda
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon

- 1 lb. Dates
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water

- Mix filling first. Bring dates, water and sugar to a boil. Set aside to cool.
- Cream butter and sugars together. Add eggs and beat. Add
rest of cookie ingredients and mix until blended. Chill dough, then roll flat.
Spread date filling over dough and roll up jelly roll fashion.
Refrigerate several hours or overnight.
Slice roll and place slices on greased cookie sheet.
Let stand until room temperature.
Bake at 350° until golden.
