KUCHEN
This recipe comes from my friend Agathe.  The fruit topping makes it a very decorative dessert.
 
Topping:
2 lbs. plums, or apples, peaches, etc.
 
Dough:   
1 1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup butter
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
 
Glaze: 
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup sugar
 
Mix all dough ingredients.  Spread across cookie sheet.  Spread fruit on top, skin side down, or in overlapping slices.  (I usually lay overlapping slices in row down one side, and then reverse direction in a parallel row, etc.)  Melt the butter for glaze and add sugar and cinnamon.  Dribble over fruit.  Bake at 350º for around 20 minutes.
