cup brown sugar

cup butter

tsp. salt

tsp. baking soda

cup sugar
- 1/2
cup water
- 1
lb. chopped dates

- Mix
dough, spread half in ungreased square cake pan. Boil filling ingredients together and pour over dough in pan.
Top filling with rest of dough. Bake
at 350° for 30 minutes. When
cool cut in squares.
